Meet Aalis 🩵

Aalis was designed around that true Art Nouveau pendant! She has been passed down since the 1880s/early 1900s. Art Nouveau is known for whimsical movement and curves in artistry sculpted in a way I’ve never seen replicated! Nature is portrayed as a fairytale instead of something just on the other side of the window. This era meets earth and fantasy with regal.

It’s very hard to compliment an antique, so I went with a statement tail that sent the attention back to her. The base of the bow is a single border vintage eyelet in a shade lighter than the cameo. It has a similar movement to the border floral of the pendant. The bottom of the tail is that antique blue also from the late 1800s/early 1900s. I hand embroidered a tree piece similar to the cameo background to add one more layer of texture. Aalis looks simple and regal at first glance, but the more you look, the more elaborate she becomes. Also.. The tails falling perfectly together make me swoon 🥹

Note: the cameo is loose within the setting but can’t fall out. Not sure if was made like that or the glue came loose.
